Music, creative workshops, talks, speeches, anniversary sweets, and a special jubilee publication amongst other things made the anniversary at ARoS this weekend extra festive.   

More than 5,000 visitors participated in the celebration of ARoS opening its doors to the public for the first time this spring weekend exactly 20 years ago.   

 "We are touched and honored that so many of our visitors, annual pass holders, partners, and sponsors took part in celebrating this special milestone with us. It demonstrates the citizens of Aarhus’ very special relationship with ARoS as a unique cultural landmark and an important creative space – that makes us very proud," says museum director Rebecca Mathews, who welcomed the first guests at the door on Sunday morning together with Jens Erik Sørensen, who was museum director when the museum first opened.
